A former co-host of The Project and one of the country’s most exciting stand-up comedians, Sam combines razor-sharp observations with brilliantly told stories of Australian life.
“I grew up at 34 Shoalhaven St, Nowra, NSW. The house wasn’t super flash, the place was basically held together with pop-rivets and a seemingly religious use of WD-40. It was one of those post-war knockabout fibro-shells you still see on quarter-acre blocks all over Australia’s poorer suburbs.
Last year, my Dad annoyingly sold up and moved away. Oh! And also, the nightly TV show I hosted called The Project ended (but that’s not really part of the tale…).
This 60 minute story is filled with a lifetime of suburban misadventures, small-town characters, and the strange nostalgia of losing the place that made you. I’ve been telling people this show is about the house I grew up in, but it’s really about everything that happened inside.”
Doors are 7.30pm and seating is on a first come, first served basis. This event is held in the Main Hall. Garden bar with food and drink options open from 5pm.
